I just installed the Thomas Kopp link pipe with cat this weekend.
The video on You Tube gives a good explanation of the procedure. It is pretty straightforward, remove muffler, remove cat, put link pipe back in place of cat, replace muffler. I did spend about 15 minutes pulling, tugging and wiggling to get he cat off. You can get it off without removing the rear tire, but just barely. The link pipe fit perfectly at both ends without any modifications or adjustments.
I am running the S&S slip on and a Fuel Moto tune for S&S slip on only. FM did send me a new map for use with the link pipe but I haven't loaded it yet. It ran just fine with the slip on only map. Sound is definitely louder than with the cat. It stays pretty tame under 4K RPM's, and then barks pretty loudly after that when you are on the juice. Performance was good, but I don't know that I noticed and big difference, maybe a few more decel pops than previously. Engine started and ran fine at all RPM's. It looks 10x better than that awful looking stock cat.
