I’ll have to look at mine again but I thought there was foam in the lid of the fuse box with cutouts to keep those things in place. I could be misremembering.
They do have resistors now. They don’t do low-glow while running, but do low-glow after bike is off for like 1 min 30 then they turn off completely. Only on the rears. I’ve been happy with them that behavior not withstanding.
This is the one I got. They do ship to Europe by the looks of it. Don’t expect anything crazy, it just makes the shifts feel a tad “clicky” which is nice. Takes up some of the slack in the shifter causing fewer missed shifts/false neutral if you have that issue. Cheap easy five minute mod...
I have aftermarket bars (Rizoma MA006). The dealer did the install of the mirrors during the rebuild after my accident. I believe the barrel is supposed to be exposed from what I recall seeing on Scouts. Someone with a Scout can chime in on whether that’s the case or not.
I was prepared to buy mine without a test ride first. I walked into the dealer fully intending to do so. Mine was a long sitting showroom queen that they wanted to move so it was marked $1500 less than the other FTR’s next to it that were identical. While they were getting the paperwork ready...

This is the one I have. I had to widen the holes for American plates but that wasn’t difficult and it’s very subtle and clean.
Most tail tidys mount to the accessory holes underneath the grab handles whereas the luggage rack replaces the grab handles themselves. Different mounting locations. I don’t know of any tail tidys that interfere with the luggage rack.
I had it as my first exhaust. I tried with and without the cat. In my option it sounds absolute best with the cat installed and the db reducer removed. Nice and rumble, deep bass idle without being obnoxious when you get on it. With the cat and the db reducer installed, it sounds the same as the...
It’s not too difficult. Take the seat off, the taillight wiring is under the seat. Follow the wire from the brake light to its plug. Unplug it, plug in the supabrake to the brake light and the main harness so that it is between the two, tuck everything back in nice and neat, reinstall seat...
Interesting. I was able to order a paper copy online through 2022 model years last year. I hope they aren’t going the way of Ducati where every thing in the maintenance section of the owners manual just says “visit your local dealer.”
They changed a few hardware components on the newer motors from the ‘19’s that helped the cold start issues in addition to making them slightly more tame. I believe they have different throttle bodies and some other bits. The factory tune I believe is the same as the updated tune they released...
I have had both the Fuel Moto tune and the Lloydz bench tune. The Fuel Moto tune is definitely better than the factory tune but I do think the Lloydz bench tune is the best tune you can get for the FTR regardless of any other mods. Buttery smooth cold start and idle, takes the jerkiness out of...
The cold idle rpm is a quick way to tell if it’s tuned or not. Stock cold idle rpm is 1250ish, whereas the two reputable tunes bring it up to around 1400.
If it still has the cat, whatever is after it doesn’t matter as far as running condition goes. Generally speaking getting rid of the cat...
