I've got 2022 FTR 1200 (black smoke) which has the OEM suspension and it will need adjusting. While I am fairly new to the suspension adjustment game, I've have enough track experience to know the bare bones suspension basics. The bike hasn't had the sag set yet, I am planning on taking it to the local race shop to have them help set the SAG on it soon. I plan on keeping this bike like pretty much for forever, I'll admit the bike does have its pros and cons. Given it will be a long term bike, I've often wondered if it might be worth it to upgrade to the Ohlin's front and rear or upgrade the springs on the OEM forks. I'ver never experience the difference between OEM Springs vs a spring weighted for the rider.

I guess the real questions for the FTR OEM suspension semi-noobie are:
- If anyone on this thread is around this weight range, what suspension are you running (OEM, Ohlins, Custom) and what adjustments have you made?

- Since I am light rider of 130-135lbs, should I change out the OEM Springs for Springs weighted for my weight?

- Or should I upgrade to the Ohlins and/or have them equipped with springs weighted for my weight?

Any advice and recommendations are greatly appreciated! I will keep you all update as I progress with the adjustments for a lighter rider on the OEM Suspension.

For that weight the stock springs should be fine. You’re owners manual gives you a good baseline to start with settings. And work from there.

I know this is an old post and more likely you've resolved your issue.. But setting your sag is a very easy thing to accomplish on your own.. Might I suggest

Dave Moss youtube vids. Guys a genius, I've worked with him many times track side. Great guy too... Personally I'm thinking you just might need a lighter spring. 130lbs is a flyweight. I'm not too sure you'd really benefit from going Ohlins, that's coming from a guy that just put a rear Ohlins on. I got a super deal on it so I got it. To tell the truth unless your an advanced rider you'd probably not benefit. For the riding I been doing, not seeing {feeling} that much of a difference.. Your results may vary..

Stay stock. Only change I'd make is maybe front springs. But then again, those springs were for racing and made a big difference. The advantage for full front and rear work is for racing purposes. If you're a daily rider on the street, it's a waste of money. Ride might be too harsh for the street.
