Im out of the loop here. Are the 2022 shrouds an upgrade over 2019 shrouds? I am trying to zoom in on images of the 2022 model. Do they take in air better than the 019 shrouds?

I believe they were redesigned (and are wider) to redirect hot air around and away from the rider as part of the complaints of excess heat from the 1st gens. $80 doesn’t seem terrible if they actually do cut down on feeling the heat.

If you see them upclose, you can see how they redirect air, its mainly items 32 and 33.

Ill be sure to take detailed pics for those who havent had a chance to see the 2022 in person yet.

They should be here early next week.

Here you can see the shroud behind the fan. It will blow the air around the engine. Instead of through it to your leg

The new design also has a rearward portion of the shroud that fits in behind the radiator and clips to the frame. The RH side fit pretty well, but the LH side seems to not want to fit in as well and rides a bit high, putting tension on the top clip. Might need to do some light mod to the LH to get it to fit better, but need to get him covered for rain coming. @ferraiolo1 or any others that put these on let me know if you find a better way especially on the LH shroud.

Looks like you just need to slip the edges under the radiator cap to get it lined up right like so…image.jpg
And the left hand side on mine.

Also looks like you don’t have these plastic push pins installed, that will complete them…

Yes, that’s because the pushpins add the tension to the system as I said. I’m now concerned that his rad might have been bent when he went over on side stand...

Do you have closer pictures? I found them to be just as easy to put on as the old ones were to take off. No struggle or tension, so something ain’t right somewhere.

How do they affect the heat on your legs on long rides?
In my case, TBD. I would say the airflow does feel more directed out to the sides, but I wouldn’t say it reduces the amount of heat felt yet. I’d think that rear cyl deactivation is gonna be the biggest heat reducer on the 2022’s.

That said I got these for aesthetic’s over function, if they reduce heat felt, cool. If not, meh. I just like the way they look.

Well if I hadn’t gotten the ‘22 shrouds I might not have noticed that my rad was bent, so it’s money well spent for me. Got the tabs bent mostly back into position, it might be ever so slightly still out of square but not bad for a channel lock and coffee before work. Everything fit together much better as well.
