2024 Ftr Speedo swap?

I have a 2024 standard Ftr. It came with an analog speedo. I really dislike it. Is there any good digital aftermarket speedos that I could replace it with or maybe even the 4” lcd by Indian? I’m not looking for bells and whistles. I don’t give a fuck about ride modes or gps. I just want a damn number for mph and gas gauge. Ps my default speedo broke.

I just wanna know if the 4” lcd is compatible honestly.

My understanding is that no, you can't without spending a shitload of money and I'm not sure anyone has actually done it yet. it requires a reprogram of the ECU also.
if your speedo has broken, have you taken it back to the dealer?

Damn. Yeah I guess I’m stuck with it. Ugh. How lame. I guess I’ll use my pv4 for my digital Speedo 😂 you think after market Speedo’s would be more common mods people make. A lot of shitty stock ones out there.

Yeah fuck that. I was hoping someone had some decent after market ones. I’m not above rewiring the bike a bit to get what I want.
 
Don't all the models use the same main harness? Looks like the same plug for the Display/Speedo. Would then need the Updated ECU software or Ebay/Breaker part from appropriate model. I certainly wouldn't pay Indian Retail prices.

I mean you did buy the base model, so to be expected it doesn’t have the fancy screen.

You do get a mpg calculator and voltage indication that you don’t get on the digital dash. I rather those things than a digital speedo read out.
 
The 4” square digital dash isn’t great, honestly - one of my least favourite things about the FTR. Mine hasn’t done it yet, but they are prone to water ingress and screen delamination. Its a big black lump squatting on your bars with no gps, no electrical gauge, a fairly theoretical miles to empty display with no mpg readout, and neither of the two layouts are more than meh in looks. Pretty budget for a premium bike. I’d rather have your basic semi-analog gauge if I had a choice.

The New round dash is miles better IMO and the only reason I went '23 over '22.
 
Wondering if yours just sucked and its issues are just because of that.

I haven’t seen anyone complaining about the unit being unreadable at speed or anything. I’m no expert on this stuff but I’d replace it under warranty and see what it does once it’s working 100%

This is a good point. Could be just a faulty Speedo
