day/night setting

When my '19 FTR was new, the dealer was showing me the features and said most people prefer the night setting for the speedo gauge (black field/white numbers) and adjusted it to that.

I've found that glare off the screen makes this mode harder to see in daylight (when I put on the vast majority of my miles), but I can't get it to go to the white/field/black numbers mode.

When I go to the appropriate screen and hold one of the "buttons" it lights up, but when I take my finger off it goes out. I've tried it running and with the engine off.

Any tips for what should be a stupidly simple thing to do? Is this a electronic malfunction or user malfunction?

page 38 of the owners manual. you should just tap the buttons not hold them.
From the General settings menu you can do the following: • Themes (Day/Night/Auto)

Thanks for your response...I have the manual and read that page, but after I make a selection, that button does not stay lit up.

The "Auto" selection does stay on, so I left it that way and will see what happens when I ride it next.

can you untick the auto button?
