Debating on getting a programmer versus sending out my ecu.

I was thinking about ordering a programmer for my ftr. It's pretty much plug and play and it could be waiting for me when I got home from this work trip. I'm a little nervous about sending the ECU anywhere because without it the bike becomes a brick.
I'm not looking so much for performance games as I am for smoothing it out as the bike has a little bit of surge at mid rpms. If it's absolutely worth it I would do the ecu. Otherwise, I would do the programmer. Looking for opinions if you don't mind please

if you buy a PV3, have you considered who you will get your tunes from? the ones from Dynojet are pretty average.

yes there is, I'm just letting you know the stock ones on the PV3 from Dynojet are terrible.

Lloydz Garage do, as does Thomas Kopp and Fuel Moto.

Lloydz and Thomas are the two i recommend.

100% this.

I sent mine out to a licensed Lloydz remote bench tuner in the UK (I think the first in Europe). I had the delivery insured, recorded and it was back with me within a turnaround of 4 days. The ECU is a piece of piss to get to and extract. The tune itself, though not cheap, will transfer your bike - don't even consider a PV3 flash.

And lloydz will still provide a pv3 then for some international markets. As the newer software didn’t reach some of them.

No idea, I haven't dealt with Lloydz directly for some time. I got my ECU flashed here in Aus.
