Just spent 2 hours polishing my exhaust so it can blind birds mid-flight and impress absolutely no one except me.
Used Red scotch brite and metal polish, then an alcohol based cleaner to clean up between sections and at the end to remove any oil residue for hands and remaining polish.
When you use the scotch brite go with the grain of the header which is normally around the circumference of the pipe not the length, if you do it length ways and the grains is around you'll end up with scratches.
