FTR 1200 S Chain Tension Measurement & Adjustment

Hello,

Noticed the dealer kept my chain tension too tight, user manual says between 33 & 40 mm but I've measured it to be 25mm.

Before adjusting it to the correct tension I need to check on something, the user manual doesn't specify if the motorcycle must rest on the kickstand or on a lift to measure the chain tension, so was wondering if I should measure it on the kickstand or with the rear tire lifted?

any thoughts?

Please be aware of how Indian specifies the chain tension. It's the distance between the chain and the swingarm, NOT the up-down play. Your 25mm mean nothing if you measure the wrong way. 25mm measured the proper way means it's too loose, not too tight.
