That is really embarrasing! And yes, how useful would it be if it worked properly!

I am planning this touring trip in the Pyrenees for June, and was hoping to use Ride Command as my GPS.
I did check the Beeline on account of you mentioning it, but while browsing their website the word "subscription" popped up. I am literally allergic to subscriptions, what with everyone and their cousin trying to shove subscriptions down your throat these days. If I was to say yes every time someone offered me a subscription, I would be paying 10000 Euros per month in subscriptions.
And I know the basic Beeline functions are free, it's just... I see the word "subscription" and I lose it.
Anyways, I toured Europe already 10-12 years ago with nothing but Google Maps in my pocket (not on the handlebars, in my jacket pocket) - I can do it again. Don't need any GPS. Nowadays, there is 4G cellular signal everywhere, even on mountain peaks and in the highest mountain passes of the Alps and the Pyrenees. I am only planning to do some 200 km / 125 miles per day - plenty of time to stop and whip out the phone to check the route from time to time. Good for the brain, too, to try and navigate by signs instead of GPS. If you need to get somewhere in a rush because of work and whatnot, that's a different story, but on a relaxed trip... I don't terribly mind getting lost
