How to plan a ride in Ride Command

Does anyone use Ride Command to plan rides? It used to be possible to plan motorcycle rides, but now I can only see "Off-road" and "Snowmobile" modes.

I wanted to plan a ride and have it transferred to the Ride Command on the bike. This is the ride that it planned for me:

What I am doing wrong?

I have the FTR registered in my garage on the Polaris web page and in the app.

Managed to do it in a roundabout way by importing a GPX file exported from Google Maps, but it used to be possible to do it directly in the Ride Command web app.

I've given up trying to use Ride Command for navigation, the interface is awful and it seems unable to recalculate a route if you make any deviation. So I rely on my Beeline which is so much easier and faster to use, and more reliable.

Wow, it doesn't even recalculate reliably! I suppose having a basic GPS built into your dashboard is too much to ask for in 2025 :(

Thanks for letting me know, I have actually never used it before, and wanted to start using it on a trip I am planning for June.

I don't know if its a bug that could be resolved with a software update, but I found if I deviated from the route then the screen went blank and if froze, I was unable to exit out of nav or even change screen back to the standard speed/rpm. I had to stop and turn off the bike, then restart, but it did the same about 3 times, and the reason I deviated from the route was because the system was slow or lagging, so I was missing turns.

In my experience its unreliable and clunky to use, which is a real shame because it would be an excellent feature if it worked.

It's not a huge problem for me as I had already invested in a Beeline Moto II device, which works great for me, and has options of voice guidance, fast and "fun" routes, return loop planning, speed camera warnings, etc.

That is really embarrasing! And yes, how useful would it be if it worked properly! :(
I am planning this touring trip in the Pyrenees for June, and was hoping to use Ride Command as my GPS.

I did check the Beeline on account of you mentioning it, but while browsing their website the word "subscription" popped up. I am literally allergic to subscriptions, what with everyone and their cousin trying to shove subscriptions down your throat these days. If I was to say yes every time someone offered me a subscription, I would be paying 10000 Euros per month in subscriptions.
And I know the basic Beeline functions are free, it's just... I see the word "subscription" and I lose it.

Anyways, I toured Europe already 10-12 years ago with nothing but Google Maps in my pocket (not on the handlebars, in my jacket pocket) - I can do it again. Don't need any GPS. Nowadays, there is 4G cellular signal everywhere, even on mountain peaks and in the highest mountain passes of the Alps and the Pyrenees. I am only planning to do some 200 km / 125 miles per day - plenty of time to stop and whip out the phone to check the route from time to time. Good for the brain, too, to try and navigate by signs instead of GPS. If you need to get somewhere in a rush because of work and whatnot, that's a different story, but on a relaxed trip... I don't terribly mind getting lost  :)

The subscription is only required for voice commands and round trip (loop) planning. Otherwise it is just the one off cost of the device for the main navigation.

I raised an Issue with the Ride Command Tech Support asking how can I plan a ride in the web app, then transfer it to the mobile app and to the Ride Command on the bike, given that all I can see now are Off-Road and Snowmobile options.

They responded: "You cannot plan a ride on the round display of the FTR 1200 Ride Command", then closed the Incident.
Didn't even bother to read my e-mail properly. Typical.

It used to be perfectly possible and easy to plan a ride and transfer it to the bike. I did it before.
I love it when functionality that used to work perfectly before, suddenly disappears.:mad::cautious:

I have raised a new Issue just now:

"Hello,
How can I plan a MOTORCYCLE ride in the Ride Command WEB APP and transfer it to the mobile app and to the Ride Command on the bike?

All I can see are Off-Road and Snowmobile options, no motorcycle.
I have added my motorcycle to My Garage - doesn't help.

It used to be possible to plan motorcycle rides, but now that possibility is gone.
I raised this issue before, and you responded: You cannot plan a ride on your motorcycle Ride Command. I know this - I am asking how to plan it in the web app.

Thanks for your help."

Forgot to say that this wokaround doesn't help, because it puts the ride among Past Rides. From there it is impossible to make it a planned ride again - no option to 'Repeat', or 'Reuse', or such.

OK, this is embarassing. Turns out I am stupid. I was accessing the general Polaris Ride Command website, instead of the specific Indian site. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
