MotoGP

Morbidelli came in too hot to that first corner, locked the brakes and rammed into the rear of Bez. I don't think ride height had anything to do with it.

really tight race to the end of the season now, several people who are contenders. I like Pecco but i'd like to see the Beast or Martin win, since Ducati decided not to keep either of them haha.

Retro liveries were awesome, the HRC one was my fave.

No it didn't - as I acknowledged in my post. My initial suspicion since Bez seemed to be carrying less speed was that it had again caused a problem, but like I said I was mistaken and Morbidelli took full responsibility. As I also said, I would still like to see it banned.

Well Marc finally won his first race, not surprising it was at this track - it's one of his fave tracks and is mostly left turns.
plus if he gets out in front he's hard to catch. it's passing that's been harder for him since the injury.

Poor Pecco - to me, it looked a lot like Alex didn't slow down or touch brake, and apparently he held 40-60% throttle the whole time. I'm not sure how he could not see Pecco there.
on the flip side - if you're overtaking, it's useful to make sure you are well clear and safe before pulling in front.
I'll wait for the stewards on this one.

His head was literally on the inside of his bike, looking to the right. I am not surprised Alex didn’t see him.
fair point.
I'm sure the stewards will sort this out.
I suspect they both played a part in the accident.

wow that was one heck of a race - I'm VERY surprised they didn't give a penalty to the Beast for that move. he went in way too hot and pushed them both wide, sadly Martin copped the worst of it.
he apologised but he should have redressed.

This is absurd - top seven places in the sprint race to Ducati...in HRC's back yard with Mir in the gravel on the first lap. Pecco has now won more sprints this year than Martin. Unlucky for Acosta, great duel between Marc and the Beast on the penultimate lap. Crap move from Zarco on his teammate at his home race.

Main race - top five places to Ducati...in HRC's back yard with Mir in the gravel on the first lap. Acosta crashes out again. Superb resilience and response from the World Champion under pressure from Martin closing the gap to ten.

If you haven't seen Moto 2, find it - and great to see Ikko, Daijiro Kato's son wave the chequered flag.

Just think if Polaris had purchased Ducati when they had the chance. Would they have allowed the racing investment that has led Ducati to so many podiums?

Doubtful - and the Audi aero facilities have been intrinsic to their success.

Phenomenal from Marc. Would have undoubtedly won the sprint had it not been for the fluffed start and in spite of the freak tear off incident in the main race was able to comfortably reel in Martin. Jorge did however say afterwards that he was thinking of the championship and didn't want to take the risk fighting back. Incredible how Gresini/Márquez had set up the GP 23 to turn so tightly and quickly to counter the grunt and punch out of the corners of the 24.

Horrendous weekend for Bez and both he and Viñales were both very lucky to come out of that awful incident at Doohan's unscathed. Not sure whether it warranted a punishment for Bezzecchi though - conditions at the corner were very challenging and you could see him sucked into the draft.

As I say every year, the greatest circuit on the planet. Can we come here every week instead of two GPs at that ridiculous go-cart track Misano. Beautiful resurfacing job as well, which I expected to be tougher and more abrasive on tyres than it turned out.

Can't see Pecco coming back into this, but then it's Moto GP, anything can happen (barring a manufacturer other than Ducati winning the championship).

the Island certainly delivered once again - felt for poor Jack who hit a rabbit one day and a seagull the next. He did well to finish on race day.

great result by Marc, that tear off incident was scary - bike was almost completely uncontrolable.
and agree that Bez shouldn't have been penalised for that crash, he got sucked quickly into the slipstream and just coudln't stop. I'm glad neither were badly hurt it looked BAD.

still not over though, excited for the remaining races.

Sprint - yet another untimely exit from Acosta resulted in the depressing scenario of an all Ducati top 8. We've seen the heyday of Augusta, Yamaha and of course HRC's indominability, but it's hard to see when this will end. Martin's first turn dive under Pecco handed the initiative to Bastianini who never let it slip.

In the main race Pecco must have breathed a sigh of relief when Marc crashed out in spite of handing Martin four points in the process. Pecco now trails Martin by 17 points but there are still 74 points up for grabs.

Congratulations to AI Ogura on wrapping up the Moto 2 title.

Thank Christ that Jack, (in addition to Brad and Fabio,) came through that relatively unscathed. Horrible crash.

After the disappointment of the sprint race for Pecco he showed he wasn't done in the main race. I detest the way that this stupid Saturday sprint has adulterated and skewed this series. Bagnaia would already be champion if it wasn't for this nonsense. At least this way it's going down to the last race - and a fortnight to stew on it due to the terrible flooding in Valencia. 24 points in it with a possible 33 up for grabs. The early laps were simply spectacular and credit to Martin for his combative approach. In the end Bagnaia's last minute gamble on the soft front paid off.

Moto 2, Lopez not only served as a mobile chicane for Ogura but managed to run over Chantra's foot forcing him to retire due to ligament damage. Impressive from Canet - not often you get to say that.

Moto 3 is worth a mention given Alonso's sixth win on the trot.

yeah that accident was one of the worst I've seen in ages. I wasn't expecting Jack to be able to walk after seeing the footage of his head get stuck between the wheel and tail of Fabio's bike.
When they showed him walking to the pits with his wife, i cheered.

great battle at the start, was exciting to see.
can't wait for the last race - thoughts with everyone in Valencia there are a lot of people dead & thousands displaced due to the flooding.

Martin a worthy champion, but an impeccable weekend from Bagnaia who did everything right. Championship was really a case of Pecco's mistakes and unforced errors rather than Martin's gains, although Jorge's prowess in the the sprint formula made the difference. I simply can't see Aprilia being competitive next year, which is such a shame given Martin's talent. That ridiculous ice cube/Terminator stunt though. 🙄

It’s crazy that he lost the championship with 11 race wins😱 Martin really deserved it though, really steady except for two mistakes (crashing in the leads and to go in for rain tires). Can’t wait for next year, let’s find out how consistent Marquez still can be.

Due to the time difference I'll watch the actual race tonight.
But I'm stoked Martin won, mainly to stick it to Ducati - he absolutely should have been given a factory ride and this proves it.
His consistency was why he won the championship.
Pecco is a great rider though, he definitely made him earn it.

caught up on the race last night - not an exciting race but I expected people to play it cool to ensure they don't crash.
It will be hilarious if Martin takes the no 1 and wears it on his Aprilia next year!
