Where did you ride your FTR today?

... with such kind of pics you can go on bothering and stay relaxed! (y)

Hehe, thank you :) (y)

In Summer, I always have this dilemma: In the little spare time at my disposal, should I go hiking in the mountains, or riding my FTR. I try to do a bit of both, but it ends up feeling like too liitle.

First world problems, I know 😅

I managed to get out on Monday and rode to the annual Cassington Bike Night event near Oxford. We got there early at about 2:30pm, and it turned out to be a good move. What a great event, such a good vibe and a very eclectic mix of bikes. 30deg C temperatures, loads of food and drinks available and 2 pubs......does it get any better?

Have you been able to ride lately, or do you still have back problems?
Oh yes, thanks, the Physio is working great! I never expected it, but hoped of course. I´m back in the saddle. Did some longer rides so far - of course, in the moment the limiting factor in Austria is the weather, kind of April-style: sun-rain-sun-rain ... and temps switch between 15C and 35C. Last ride was 4,5hrs, refuel stops only, no issues. The workout to make this happen takes about 30min a day, but it´s worth it. Pic is from my favorite Gas Station - owned by the Heiligenkreuz-Monastery aka Holy Fuel!

I feel the same: in the alps we do have small weather slots - and these slots I have to split up between FTR/Duc, KTM Enduro MTB and hiking with my wife. Not easy. Another thing is: getting to places like you show in your pictures, takes me time and about 150km to get there, which is only kind the "trailhead of pittoresk scenery" to ride. I don't really complain, but it definitely doesn't work by snipping your fingers ... :)

I'm really glad that you can ride! And yes, I cann attest that physiotherapy and similar work wonders. My wife is a Pilates instructor and she has helped a lot of people, including me. The workout is definitely worth it.

Do you think that raising the handlebars would help you? To me it was a huge difference and helped relieve the cervical spine load a lot.

Holy fuel!
I see on the map that the Heiligenkreuz Monastery also have a restaurant, so you can have a holy meal, too :). A Wienerschitzel larger than the plate on which it is served, according to the pictures

haha, I dine often here with my lady - food quality is very good, and meanwhile I know the slots with less tourists there. Handlebars are not the problem - I on the one hand like em, but on the other hand had them turned to the front, and with my next service coming soon, I'll have the bar even turned more frontwise: reason is, I want more feeling and therefore slightly more weight there. That´s about an inch or so. The spine is OK, it´s the neck joints only, so the angle of attack for them doesn't change significantly. Pilates sounds good, but I´ve heard that this is pretty hard. But I'm painless now, which is kind of a wonder for an old guy like me ...
