Where did you ride your FTR today?

Once again I left the FTR at home to try this! Not planning on replacing, but was intrigued anyway…

what did you think?
I was surprised how well I could hustle it down a country road and it had bags of character, but lack of suspension travel limited it somewhat for me, plus gave me a bad back after an hour in the saddle. Ride command was good though! Much prefer it to a Scout too.

Man I love this bike - the motor is sublime, the chassis is welded to the road and the throttle is so damn tractable off the bottom you can get on it from apex to exit. More of that please.

Too busy fanging to stop for a nice picture, so here's the result from today.

Doesn’t hurt my back at all. But might give your neck a little whip-lash! I ride mine more than my FTR.View attachment 4635View attachment 4636
I had decided not to think about this bike but with the new dealership I'm open to thinking about it again. The new dealership is the interim dealership that I bought the FTR from.
The burning question in my mind is how heavy does it "feel"?

How heavy does it feel?

It depends on what you are used too. (My Chief Bobber is 695 lbs wet.) If you are coming from a Roadmaster, Challenger, Chieftain, Springfield or Vintage (all over 830 lbs) it feels light as a feather, nimble, flickable. If you a coming from a FTR or Scout it feels like a pig.

But the brute power and raw torque of a 116 stuffed into a small frame is hard to describe. It is addictive. I added de-baffled Stage1 slip ons, and Stage1 forward facing high flow intake. Then I added a Stage2 kit - 65mm throttle body, high flow fuel injectors, and cams. The bike pulls like an angry mule on steroids. Don’t get me wrong. My FTR is still a “blast in the ass” to ride, but my Chief is a brute.D386926D-5D8D-4261-B045-FCF8C9407F70.jpegBA4A908C-F2E3-4CF0-987F-DC9C1DAEAE04.jpeg892A9C30-A391-4EF2-8B70-84FBBCB8B20A.jpegFDF1BEC1-E6B9-452F-9FA0-A84DD3468D97.jpeg700B10E8-0B4C-425A-A4B6-F4A94C6D9F8A.jpeg

I just came into possession of a 2021 Scout Bobber. Once the Misses calms down (for some reason she can’t understand why anyone needs to own 5 bikes) I plan to add a big bore kit and hot cams. Mike at Pitt Cycles loves tearing perfectly good engines apart and making them better! (Build Back Better) - Sounds like it might make a good political slogan!BCAD720A-35F9-4878-821B-1519A7EDD79B.jpeg18105B30-342C-440A-94B1-E66CEBC0D446.jpeg

A strong desire for a Scout Bobber is growing in me.
I casually mentioned it to the missus and the look on her face was enough for me to know to shut about it for a while

My dad once bought a Triumph Speed Triple from Perth without telling my mum.
It was getting delivered by the truck when she was coming home from work.
She got out the car yelling and swearing asking WTF was going on.
He smiled and said 'Surprise!'

She didn't speak to him for a week lol

My brother was doing a track day out at Mallala today in his Skyline so I Rode down for a watch.
Bit of a boring ride as it was mainly dead straight freeway or country road but was thankful for cruise control!

he had a number of other drivers out looking at his car which was pretty cool.
