It was great fun, until it wasn't. To be clear, I think any dual sport would have gotten stuck as well. The ground was just too soft and the mud too thick. A proper dirt bike probably would have made it. The FTR just a tad to heavy and the tires are not the best for off pavement.

I was feeling a little adventures last night...took a dirt road, to another dirt road, and then a grassy open area.. Decided to explore. Didn't get too far and was stuck in deep mud. 3hours later...with the help of some friends and a jeep with a winch, back on the road. Lesson learned, hard...

Yea the first week I took really easy, that's why the high mileage. Now I ride it hard, like it is meant to be ridden. Low MPG, but I don't care. Twisting the throttle on this thing is so exhilarating.

I swear I was getting 130-150 the first week...maybe I mistaken and loosing my mind or mis read the fuel gauge.

60 miles today....around my area...beautiful night. I'm starting to get really comfy with the bike. It feels natural now. Ripped it up hard and noticed I am getting around 90-91 mile per fill up...wholly shit that's terrible. Filled up halfway through.. First with the Indian OEM Dual Sport...

It's good to know about common issues. Even better to know how to fix them! I agree-- the FTR is an amazing machine. I ripped around the city this evening.. and was grinning ear to ear! Now that I have a week of ownership under my belt, the bike is feeling at home. Powerful and rather nimble!
