Well, I did'nt know anything about Gremlin Bells and the legend about them, but last year, when I bought my FTR, a friend of mine (he's an english guy by the way...) gave me one as a gift and told me about the legend around these bells. I am not superstitiuos and of course I don't really belive...
It is simple to see if the problem is that relay: just take an electric wire and join the two poles (you can also make it with needle nose pliers); this gives power straight from the battery to the ignition starter. If the starter runs you have a problem with the relay that is probably dameged...
With the other bike I have (Moto Morini Granpasso 1200) I had the same problem and it was a relay. Don't know his name in english... in Italy we call it "teleruttore" and it is the big one that gives the start to the bike... I suppose also FTR has one of these installed. Let's see if I can post...
I own a 2008 piece of italian motrocycle history: a Moto Morini Granpasso 1200 cc. In the years I customized It a lot and It would be too long to describe here all the modifications... In any case I love it!
Sardinia is perfect for a good ride! Nice roads, wonderful sights and in end of September is absolutely perfect without the tourists hanging around! (y)
