New paint on my FTR

Just thought I'd post up a few pictures of the recent paint job I commissioned for my bike. Easy since Indian offers unpainted "tank" covers, so you can have multiple and swap out quickly. And yes, I was military, and yes, I was a Captain. They are personalized for me, and I couldn't be happier.

Looks good! What about painting some other parts is the same style e.g. front fender and radiator covers?

Very cool....I like your tank covers better than the “artist series” offered by Indian for big bucks! Have you thought about adding a silver rim stripe to match the covers? I did mine in white...

Those are my fav! I love the WWII piston driven fighter sheetmetal look. The weathering is spot on perfection!
I am told Shark teeth are real scary taboo for the Japanese. This would seem appropriate on a Jap bike eater like an FTR!!

I thought about it, but with the current setup I can just switch out tank covers to change look. If I get into other painted parts, then I have to buy more parts, pay more to paint, and swap more components each time I change looks. I'm happy where it is.

I'm hoping to have a second set of wheels soon. Then, just like on my WR250R, I can go from a dedicated sport tire, to a dedicated off road tire, just by swapping wheels in the garage. Yes, I do off road my FTR...

In my mind, I see the FTR as a dirt eating and jumping badass. To bad in reality I'm not the badass I see in my mind. I love my bike too much to weather that prematurely.
But to all you badasses who choose to let her eat.... I salute you!!!
