Software Update​

March 26, 2021

This software applies to model year 2019 and above Indian FTR-1200 with a 4.3" Ride Command touchscreen.

March 2021 Update:​

• Idle timer shutdown
• Cylinder deactivation functionality on supported vehicles
• Numerous bug fixes, including improvements to hand controls, diagnostic trouble codes not showing properly, and improvements to on-screen telltales

I was in my Indian dealership today. (Paid for my new Chief. Will ride it home tomorrow. Had high winds 40-50 mph in Pittsburgh today.) I spoke with both owners and the service manager. They know I own a 2019 FTR. No one said anything about a software update.

Can’t believe they had one already. I’ll be getting a dh at the end of summer most likely.

and yes it’s a ride command update to fix some glitches. A few on the fb forum did it at the dealership. Didn’t notice anything new

Just did it myself. Nothing new except I can’t access the engineering menu anymore. Not that you could do much in there to begin with, but still. Other than that, nothing new for me.

How? The new one isn’t available to download unless you’re a dealer.

The one offered for download actually is the new one, AP2104A. Strange but true.

Just did the download, updated the bike and went for a quick (totally necessary) test run to check out any changes. and all I can say is I couldn't see any differences, which I guess is a good thing, as I didn't have any issues that required fixing and the updates didn't create any either. so all is good

I remain hopelessly pessimistic about navigation appearing on our bikes as you’d think if they were going to do it at all, it’d be on the 2022’s. And it isn’t.
