Sprocket issue?

I just had new tires put on my 1200s at the Sturgis dealership. My stock tires (the rear) was bald after returning from my last trip. The mechanic notice unusual wear on the rear sprocket. Teeth were chipped and very worn. The chain was fine and in adjustment. It was replaced under warranty but just worth a mention in case you have never looked closely at your sprocket. 5980 miles. If you zoom in on the rear tire you see the tread, it was bald across the middle when I get back. This picture was 1/3 in to the trip.7E2175B0-0131-4145-B010-77D3DB8D9A3D.jpeg

chipped or worn teeth with those miles means the axle was out of alignment.

Its a steel sprocket, they dont wear that fast.

Although the fact you got that many miles out of your tire is amazing!
