Sticking gas cap

Wondering if anyone else has an issue with the gas cap sticking on the inside of the cap… or what is best to use to lubricate the plastic inside?

I had this issue also, it was very hard to turn and it actually cracked the plastic. I had to take it apart and glue it back together, I also sanded the plastic parts down a bit to get some relief from the overly tight spring, put a light amount of grease on it and it has been working fine since.

yeah it’s been tough… 3k miles on it, plenty of filling up, I put a tiny bit of silicon grease in there, opened and closed it a bunch of times and still very tight but better to deal with now!

i will eventually tear it down again and make a cad model of the parts and make an aluminum one but I havent gotten that far yet and the plastic parts seem to be holding up. the gas cap is actually one of my only complaints about the bike, seems like it was an afterthought.
