    New rizoma parts.

I ordered the fairing and radiator brackets and I was told they won't be here in the US until March 24th for the fairing and April 9th for the radiator.

My son got a Yamaha FZ07!

Cool story, congrats. Where do you live that you can get a license at 15? That's crazy, I had to wait until 16 1/2 to get mine.

The FTR IS NOT a super naked.

I still enjoy it to this day. I'll never get rid of it.

The FTR IS NOT a super naked.

Rode them a couple of times when they first came out and I wanted one bad. There were zero dealers anywhere near me that sold KTM street bikes. Shortly thereafter I decided to slow down and stop doing track days, so, I ended up trading my ZX10 in for a Harley instead.

    Yet Another Milestone!!

It appears that we agree on something. Why take on a payment when your planning to buy a house in the same yr? This makes zero sense. PLUS, he wants to buy a house this yr and two yrs later buy a 60-80k Corvette; when he's still making payments for the FTR???... It all sounds like a recipe for...

Or at the high end. Lost cause. You see it through your prism, I see it through mine. SD feels nothing at all like a 4 cyl to me. Then again, I don't consider 4cyl or triples to have dismal power delivery.

The FTR IS NOT a super naked.

Have you ridden a Super Duke? Dismal? Similar? Yes, they have wheels, an engine and a seat. When it comes to this bike, I'm not really sure why so many try so hard to smash a square peg in to a round hole... Why not just be happy with what it is, instead of trying to convince yourself...

    Yet Another Milestone!!

 Yes, thats it. I too am happy with my purchase. We'll have to agree to disagree on the reasons for the incentives. They built a specific number of machines thinking that they would sell. They did not. Now they have to hang incentives on them to move them off the showroom floor...

The FTR IS NOT a super naked.

R9T is a retro naked and the Monster is just a naked sport bike. The only bikes there that are close are the two scramblers. If it's riding on 17" sport tires it's in no way the same category.

    Yet Another Milestone!!

What does Harley have to do with it? Seems an odd remark to throw in there. While your son and his friend may be able to afford the bike, I'd say that there are still many that can't. I'm happy for him and it's cool that he's excited, but that doesn't change the fact that Indian marked this...

    Lower handlebars

Mounted ProTaper universal low bend bars. It was an easy swap. Haven't used them yet on the FTR but I have on dirt bikes. Much better position than the stock bars; low rise and less sweep. Clip ons and clubmans are not what this bike is about IMO.

    Bike advertising

When the R9T Racer came out, it was a woman that was pictured riding it in the promo pictures.

    Panic?

Worst thing you can do to an engine is baby it during break-in. You need to build cylinder pressure to seat rings properly. Babying it will make it an oil burner just as quickly as bouncing it off the redline from new.

    Lyndall brakes and 17in wheels.

Agreed 100% It's quite ridiculous. There are innumerable vastly superior sport bikes out there running 17" wheels that will destroy an FTR with little effort. The fact that the FTR is different from them is one of the things that makes it cool. Take it away and it's just pretending to be...

    Pictures of your previous motorcycles...

I always liked those, but couldn't fit my 6'7'' frame on them. Used to see them a bunch back in the mid to late 90's in SoCal at the Crest and the Rock Store; I always drooled over them. Currently there's one for sale on raresportbikes, but it's the later model w/ less attractive bodywork.
