Drain Plugs

Many of the bikes I've owned had magnetic drain plugs and there was always a wad of iron sludge afixed to it when I went to change oil. I was a little surprised that Indian wouldn't use them and even more surprised to find magnetic drain plugs are as controversial a subject as oil itself. Regardless I feel better about them so I put them in. Bonus is they are drilled for safety wire so I can nerd out on that too. P.S. I got the Southern Draw plugs at Indian Only. As such not a bad idea, my Husky has one as stock. That said, there are many more wear particles that are not magnetic.

(I think Ari Henning did a video about magnetic drain plugs a while ago)

Thank you for the information. I will be getting these as well. I also stick a neodymium magnetic on my oil filter. I figured it can't hurt.

Two magnetic drain plugs AND a magnet on your oil filter? More magnets doesn't mean it catches more iron particles....

Don't non magnetic particles keep you awake at night?
