Noises in my gas tank? Something isn't right here

Yesterday when taking the bike off the side stand there was loud snapping noise and since I have this sound coming from what sounds like INSIDE the gas tank.

I made a quick video that should allow you to hear the noises.

The dealer has been made aware and they're going to arrange a pick up and service today if possible.

Has anyone seen (or heard lol) this issue before? It sounds like something broke off inside the gas tank and now floats on top and makes noise as it bounces around inside.

I'm inclined to believe you since you obv know these bikes better than most. That is however a lot of noise for a fuel level sensor and I've had the tank almost empty many many times and never heard this noise before.

I just checked and it's showing 25mi range so on the cusp of gas light coming on.

Going to wait for some rain to clear then I'll head to town for some fuel, will report back.

Nowhere near as notorious for being empty as a 48 with a Peanut tank.

I'm happy to confirm that I'm an idiot and the noise went away after filling up the tank. 🥲

I've had the tank almost empty many many times and never heard this noise before.

Now that you know it’s there, you’ll hear it every time your fuel is low.
