Hi all, long time listener, first time caller here. Got my new 2023 FTR S a couple weeks ago. At about 280 miles I noticed extreme chain slack, made the adjustments back to specs, but there was some noises and rubbing noises Sven after the fix. Took it to the shop today. I learned that one of the teeth on the front sprocket had broken and was the culprit behind the lingering issues. Has anyone else experienced this? Did I just get a bad sprocket? It’s being repaired under warranty but I’m concerned that this maybe is an issue I’m unaware of? I read all the other common issues. Chain slack, surging, etc.

Chain Slack and stretch is relatively normal on a new machine/new chain & sprockets. That said I’ve not yet heard of anyone breaking a sprocket tooth on these bikes specifically. I’d chalk it up as a fluke.
