SW-Motech Pro tank ring mod

Not really a big mod, but since sw-motech doesn’t offer the pro tank ring for the FTR I decided to DIY.

I ordered Airbox Bezel, Top, Textured, Part 5455797, since I didn’t want to drill and screw into my numbered FTR Carbon air box cover.
I used whatever screws and nuts I had laying around to mount the ring to the cover, since the mounting screws that came with the pro tank ring were too long and were and made for motorcycle specific gas tank. Took about 15 minutes.

Ordered, I hate not having a small tank bag.
Glasses, cap, face shield cleaner, phone, SPOT, multi-tool, camera on the fly...

Very clever! The shop I work at sells the SW Motech tank rings and bags and now I have a way to install a tank ring on my FTR! What bike was the ring you used from?

i used the Yamaha R1 / R1M / R3 / FZ-10. Though I think any would do fine.

good work! has anyone tried something similar at that spot but only for mounting the phone? like for example glueing or bolting an SP Connect ring to that airbox bezel? i think that space almost asks for a phone mount possibility.
