I did the update today, easy peasy. No codes on startup and I did a 160km ride with no codes so my bike seems to like it.

Yeah the app you can download on your phone its supposed to show you information about your bike and do gps integration or at least that’s my understanding
Yeah the app was a gimmick. Never worked with the ftr. I doubt it ever will

Agreed. Seems silly not to, or at least have it powered by your phone but show up on the screen like CarPlay.

So I did the ride command upgrade. It was easy and worked perfectly. But I still don’t get it. Outside of the neat FTR-RR image and a compass I see no difference. I didn’t use a stop watch but it seems to take the same time to cycle up. Is there a point to the upgrade? Is Indian going to give us something in the future that will utilize the new software?

Mine updates a little quicker. Some people reported the phone connectivity is a little less glitchy.
Like any tech update, not everyone was havng issues with the old one. Just like updating your phone.

I also did the update a week ago or so, now a question would the update affect the cold running roughness? For some reason (and I may be imagining it) although it is still a little rough until it heats up it doesn't seem half as bad or cuts out.
