Where did you ride your FTR today?

That looks like a very cool ride. Such a change in scenery. The Ride Command is brilliant letting everyone share in the ride like that, sometimes technology is actually worth it!
as you can tell, old technophobe talking here :D

Cheers - yeah I had to go to town for something in the morning so decided to take the bike in so I could leave the city & hit the hills later on. I don't track all my rides but I went a different route today so figured why not.

Made it to a balmy 65*F today In Pittsburgh. Took the FTR out for about 40 miles. It felt great! Stopped at Roy’s for a bite, Pink House Chocolate across the street. (owned by a friend from my church). Then stopped at Tiki Bar on my way home for a photo. Not the same as summer...☹️. Switched bikes and did another 30 miles on the Vintage. Today was good.

Mark I notice you and another forum member have fitted rim tape on the wheels. Any good and can you recommend a brand?

This is a copy of a post I made on February 7, 2020. The stripes have held up well. I have 6500miles on them now and they still look great. I keep my wheels very clean. I usually give them a wipe with a mild cleaner after each ride. I think it helped preserve the stripes. ——

I used a Stripe-It-All tool and Scotchcal Striping Tape (1/4 inch). The tool can be purchased online and there are some excellent videos to show you how to use it. The tool allows the instillation of 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 inch stripes. It is adjustable so you can choose where on the rim you want to place the stripe. It is definitely a two man job if you do not remove the wheels from the bike. I used jack stands on the front and rear. One person applies the strip with the tool and the other slowly spins the tire as the stripe is applied. It takes some practice to get it right. I chose white stripes to pick up the white in the faux tank. The tool can also easily be used on automobile rims as well.
The rims must be very clean and grease free (rear) for the stripe to adhere properly.....A9974ADB-30B8-4CDF-BFA4-E3340D70DBE8.jpeg

I went for a short blat to grab a cooking thermometer for the new Weber BBQ, then I went to the supermarket to grab a couple of lamb legs, on special. I popped the tank bag on, & used it for the first time, 4 Kg of meat was an easy fit and carry. About 40K's all up today, the bike is running well!

November 20 was a bonus riding day in Western, PA! We hit 67*F and it was sunny all day. ( My wife gave me special dispensation for a motorcycle day.) I rode all three bikes. First the XS750, then the FTR and finally the Vintage.
Jealous...

I rode to Helmet House, came home with an AGV full face. 80 K's round trip. The bike coughed and died as I left the shop, pulled in the clutch and restarted on the move...

It was getting up in the low 50s today so I thought I'd take a quick scoot up to Estes Park and Lyons, CO. Just past Pinewood Springs, I was surprised by a temp drop to 41 and snow in the road. Brrrr! So I turned around, enjoyed the warmer air, and took the long way home.

Mustangjonny84 - How do you like your Bridgestone Battlax tires? (I run the same) I find I can be much more aggressive entering corners than on the stock tires. The front turns in and bites well. It just hooks up better than the DTRs.
We hit a balmy 48*F today in Pittsburgh. I rode 50-60 miles but am ashamed to admit the FTR stayed in the garage. My Vintage with the Lexan windshield makes all the difference. My brother-in-law also goes by Mustang Jonny. Here is his perfect 67’....and my sister drives a fully restored 1984 5L Fox Body convertible. White leather interior is sweet!

Spent the day ripping up the Fraser Canyon, first 600+ km day on the FTR, first chance to really open it up in the mountains. I am blown away, what an awesome machine. FM RevB tune seems to be running great, sounds furious. Got properly dirty today.
