Now those Hurricanes are sweet, BSA designed and one of my favorite classic designed motorcycles . They are worth a bucket load of money too. Ironically production ceased primarily as in ballpark 1973 they couldn't meet noise emission legislation in the USA. Don't you dare go riding it, appreciating classic for sure! 😁

Here's one available as a USA import currently languishing in Spain for the measly price of $49000 or £35000.

Lookalikes can be had a hell of a lot cheaper.

It's my second Hurricane I had one from 1975 - 1980, rode the wheels off it, did a full restoration and sold it.
This one is a tidy original low mileage bike which found its way Downunder via Tennessee, it's destined for a museum.

I can see a bit of similarity between the Hurricane muffler set up and the FTR 1200...

Got to keep that front drum brake system cool!
The previous version of the Triumph twin leading shoe front brake was way superior to this later version. It only had a small air scoop, and had a mechanical arm between the actuating arms that needed constant adjustment to maintain good braking. Could easily get a squeal out of the front tire, but the later version sadly no.

Yesterday first ride after the winter stop at 18 degree with my MT-09....love the 3-cyclinder noise

Man... something about MT-09's I've always loved but espeically the older generations when they have that awesome handle-bar mounted wind deflector you've got your #46 on? They're so cool. That's not a stock feature for certain years, like a factory option or dealer installed accessory was it? I've only seen a couple of your generation MT-09, but it seems I've seen SEVERAL with that exact style wind deflector thing.

I had a Victory Empulse TT (all electric) before I got my FTR. Loved the bike. Little maintenance, instant torque, super quick and a real attention grabber. The range made it impractical as a primary bike. But e-bikes are a blast. Sorry to hear yours got stolen. That sux20180713_193147.jpg

I rode out to Pitt Cycles today to see the Scout. Mike said tear down is complete and he is ready to start putting it back together. He showed me the cams today and we discussed how it will be tuned. He will work with Ryan from Lloyds garage in Charlotte. Ryan will provide him a stock tune to get the bike running. Mike will run/ride the Scout then connect his computer to the bike and Ryan's computer on line. Ryan will be able to see the data and adjust the ECU tune in real time. Once the custom tune is developed it will then be saved to a PV3. The bike will then be taken to the Dyno and final power/ torque curves and numbers will be seen. Ryan feels he can get better performance out of the engine than having the bike Dyno tuned by someone will less Indian tuning experience.
Mike also suggested I add the new Tachometer with shift light Indian brought out this year for the Scout. So I put one on order. The bike should be done in January but the Tach will not come until February......
